Artisan Bread Pizza Crust
This basic artisan bread recipe is very versatile - it even makes great pizza crust.
To make a pizza crust take out a ball of dough similar in size to that of making a bread loaf.
Form the dough ball into a round, tucking the edges under to make a round ball. Next, place the dough on a well-floured bread board or cookie sheet. Press the dough from the center to form a circle - or cheat and use a roller ;). Remember, this is a wet sticky dough, so use plenty of flour.
Roll the dough until you get a 9 to 10 inch pizza crust.
Dust the top of the crust with corn meal and turn it over. Rub the crust with olive oil and add your favorite pizza ingredients. Slide the pizza onto a pizza stone liberally coated with corn meal and bake.
A Classic Marguerite Pizza Recipe:
This simple pizza recipe is a classic. To the crust above, add chopped roma tomatoes, fresh chopped basil leaves, salt and pepper, and top with mozzarella cheese. Wonderful!
Experiment with making a "Junk Pizza". Add anything you like. Start with chopped roma tomatoes, and add your favorites - onion, mushrooms, anchovies, artichoke hearts, pepperoni, etc. Have fun!

Hey, this pizza recipe is awesome!! I had to try after I read this article, and it turned out great. The bread recipe is so simple even I got it right, and that's saying something. (I could burn boiling water!) My favorite is Hawaiian Pizza with ham and lots of pineapple chunks. Thanks for the great info on bread and pizza! |
